Training & Discipleship

The Forerunner Internship

The Forerunner Internship provides the perfect environment for any 18-29 year old who wants to go deeper in God and be discipled within a community of young, vibrant believers.

Most former interns tell us that the two things they experienced while in our internship are a deep revelation of the love of God for them and authentic community and relationship with other believers. Our house churches and small group discussions led by discipleship leaders are so valuable for the growth of the individual.

This program exists to immerse 18-29 year-olds in the knowledge of God, to provide an environment of intense intimacy with this uncreated Father who desires to fascinate His children with His beauty and to equip lovesick hearts to pursue this holy, passionate God they will encounter in prayer.

SUMMER 2016: May 15- Aug 6 2016
FALL 2016: August 28- Nov. 19 2016

Intro is a three-month training program for those age 30 and up, including married couples and families. The aim of Intro is to introduce people to the vision and values of IHOP Atlanta and to allow them to experience first-hand what it would be like to be on staff at the House of Prayer. Though this program does serve as a means of training new staff at IHOP Atlanta, it is not solely for those who want to move here and join staff. It is also open to anyone interested in finding out what the House of Prayer is all about, as well as those desiring to spend a season of consecration before the Lord.

Intro participants will be actively involved in many of the various facets of the IHOP Atlanta Missions Base. This involvement will include taking School of Ministry classes, spending times of personal devotion in the prayer room, participating in corporate intercession sets, evangelism and outreach, and receiving hands on ministry training.

Come join this community of like-minded believers who are seeking to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30).

The Life of David
Instructor: Ben Melancon
Mondays 6:30-8:00 PM

As the sweet psalmist of Israel, an ancestor of Christ, and the founder of a dynasty of kings, David commands our deep respect. The life of David is the most extensively narrated story in the Bible after the life of Jesus, and is a sure witness of God’s unfailing commitment to all who walk before Him as David did. Students survey David’s life, and progress along the prophetic journey of becoming lovesick worshippers of God.

The Greatest Commandment
Instructors: Hazen Stevens, Kyle Borgognoni and Gabe Palmer
Tuesdays 6:30-8:00 PM

We were created with a longing to be wholehearted. Nothing satisfies the human spirit more than giving the deepest affections of our heart to God. How do we do this? What does it look like to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength? How do we love others with the same love God has? In this class, the 1st and 2nd Commandment will be put on display and learn to “love the LORD . . . with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first and great commandment” (Mt. 22:35–38).

Attributes of God
Instructor: Steven Ugan
Wednesdays 6:30-8:00 PM

The goal of this course is to help students expand their mental view and heart experience of God. In The Knowledge of the Holy, A. W. Tozer exhorted: “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” Jesus, in His prayer as the High Priest, prayed, “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God” (Jn. 17:3). This class explores the perfections of God as they are revealed in the Holy Scriptures, that the knowledge of God might escort us to deeper levels of faith, hope, and love.

The Antioch Center for Training and Sending (ACTS) School of Frontier Missions is a unique six-to-nine month training program designed to equip young leaders (18-29 years old) to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and change the world through worship, prayer, and a bold witness. With a high premium on keeping the First and Great Commandment as their priority, students will be prepared and mobilized for the Great Commission and to blaze a pathway to build a culture of prayer and worship in the hardest and darkest places of the world.
