BlogsRenewal Meetings: The Marriage WineJennifer McIntyre
February 2nd, 2010
In the book of Revelation, we see that everything ends up in a wedding. This day will be a glorious day when we feast at the banqueting table of the Bridegroom God and we drink from the fountain of life. We look forward to that day when we can see him face to face. But in John 16, Jesus tells the mourning disciples at his departure that, It is your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away the helper, will not come to you, but if I depart, I will send Him to you. This weekend I realized that God has allowed us to experience His superior pleasures by sending us the Holy Spirit! As I was feeling the tangible presence of the Lord during ministry this weekend, the Spirit began to minister to me in a powerful way. He began to show me the vital importance in understanding that we have access to the presence of God in our every day lives. For those of us that ache for Bridegrooms Return, its important that we drink of the marriage wine today so we are sustained in the wait. I believe God has opened up a fountain at IHOP Atlanta, where we can drink in the pleasures of the Bridegroom and taste of the powers of the age to come. |
