Tips for Worship Leaders

1. Learn and do God-centered songs

When you sing songs to God and about God it causes His people to look on?Him instead of themselves and their circumstances. God commands us to set?our minds on things above. It is then and only then we can worship.?(Colossians 3:2)

2. Practice your instrument daily

Playing and practicing your instrument everyday will cause you to improve?quickly. Additionally, you will notice that you will enjoy playing more,?simply because you can do more. Regular practice also opens the door to?creativity, song-writing, composing and arranging. (Psalm 33:3)

3. Write songs, just start and then do it with others

All song writers started somewhere. Don’t despise the little choruses or?phrases that the Lord gives you. Hold on to them, add them to older?writings, and change them up. Once you get something that’s close to song?form, do it in a corporate worship setting. (Psalm 40:3)

4. Find ways to encourage yourself and your team

Just recently, my team wore green shirts on our set just for fun. In our?debriefing we celebrated team members birthdays and after the set we went?to a worship concert. (Hebrews 3:13)

5. Worship on your own

There’s nothing like the secret place. Your greatest times of worship will?be when there is no one to lead. Simply desire Christ. (Psalm 27:4)

6. When worship leading frequently scan the room and your team asking the Holy Spirit what He is saying or doing

Ask the Lord for spiritual eyes and discernment in order to better lead the?room. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will highlight something or someone and?you’ll be able to go that direction because you’re paying attention. (I?Corinthians 12:10)

*7. Get in a community that prays and worships*

Find a place where others love to pray and worship. They will provoke you?to love Jesus more and encourage you to worship, as well as propel you into?your gifting. (Acts 4:31)

8. Listen to varying genres of worship

The Bible tells us that that every nation, tribe and tongue will be present?worshiping the Lamb of God in song. It is obvious that the expression of?this song will be different by the very nature of their culture, language?and background. Part of being a good worship leader and musician is?listening to others (different than you) worship Jesus. (Psalm 86:9, Isaiah?24:16, Revelation 7:9)

9. Sing the Word

The most prophetic and creative thing there is, is the Bible. It is always?true, it never changes and God personally wrote it Himself. When we sing?the Bible, it causes our hearts to come alive, agree with truth and in?turn, live differently. (Colossians 3:16)

10. Ask the Lord to anoint you to worship and to lead

We have not because we ask not. Praying simple prayers like, “Lord, help me?to worship You and lead others into Your heart” are invaluable as a worship?leader. He desires the “yes” in your heart towards Him and will use it for?His glory. (James 4:2, Psalm 115:1)

Calendar

Healing Rooms
10/26/2014 3:45pm - 4:45pm

If you are wrestling with physical sickness, a chronic disease, a painful injury, or a heavy emotional burden, then there is good news for you. God's Word says that He is exceedingly kind and loves to heal (Psalm 103:1-5). During His earthly ministry, Jesus healed all who came to Him (Matthew 4:24). God has promised that the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick (James 5:15). Therefore, we want to stand with you in prayer and faith, believing God to perform a healing work in your life.

Our Healing Rooms will be held from 3:45 - 4:45 pm on Sunday evenings weekly.

Appointments for personal ministry can be made starting at 3:30 pm on a first-come, first-serve basis. This personal time of ministry will typically last 20 minutes with one of our Healing Rooms ministry teams.

Prophecy Rooms
10/26/2014 3:45pm - 4:45pm

At IHOP Atlanta, we desire to encourage and strengthen believers through the prophetic ministry. We have prophecy teams that are trained to hear the heart of the Lord for people and to minister His words of encouragement, edification, and exhortation (1 Cor 14:3). It is our prayer that believers will be strengthened in their faith and have a clearer understanding of how God feels and thinks about them after receiving ministry in the prophecy rooms. If you desire to encounter God's love for you in practical way, we encourage you to sign up for a ministry time in our prophecy rooms.

The prophecy rooms are open on Sundays from 3:45-4:45 PM. Appointments can be made 15 minutes prior. They are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments typically last 10 minutes and are recorded for your convenience.

Through proclamation and impartation, each service is focused on providing a place for encounter with God for the individual, as well as generating a shift in the spiritual atmosphere over the city of Atlanta. Immediately following the service, there is an Information meeting for anyone desiring more information regarding IHOP Atlanta.
