Jesus self-witness picks up where the testimony of the prophets concludes concerning His dual nature as both God and man. In John 8:57 in a confrontation with Jewish protagonists Jesus boldly proclaims, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” (John 8:58) The implication that He was claiming equality with God was clear enough that they “took up stones to throw at Him.”

In John 5:17 Jesus declares, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” Jesus says this in response to the accusation that he was violating the Sabbath by performing healing. This reply further enraged his adversaries, “Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.” (John 5:18) Even those who refused to believe that Jesus was God, understood who He was claiming to be.

His disciples also understood his claims, but struggled to grasp the idea of God in the flesh. Peter rightly responds to Jesus question, “Who do you say that I am?”, answering “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matt 16:16) Jesus affirms His divine identity saying to Peter, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”

To be the Son of God was to claim deity as His origin, and therefore divinity as a part of His essence. Yet even on the night he was betrayed His disciples still had doubts concerning His identity. Philip questions Jesus saying “show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus boldly answered, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He ho has seen Me has seen the Father...”(John 14:9) Finally after the resurrection, even the most doubtful, Thomas who had said, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” Upon encountering the risen Lord, touching the wounds of His hand and side, he declares with finality, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28) Jesus affirms his declaration of divinity, saying “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” He was human enough to be touched, to eat with them in His risen form, but God enough to receive their worship, “When they saw Him, they worshiped Him...” (Matt 28:16)

Healing Rooms
11/23/2014 3:45pm - 4:45pm

If you are wrestling with physical sickness, a chronic disease, a painful injury, or a heavy emotional burden, then there is good news for you. God's Word says that He is exceedingly kind and loves to heal (Psalm 103:1-5). During His earthly ministry, Jesus healed all who came to Him (Matthew 4:24). God has promised that the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick (James 5:15). Therefore, we want to stand with you in prayer and faith, believing God to perform a healing work in your life.

Our Healing Rooms will be held from 3:45 - 4:45 pm on Sunday evenings weekly.

Appointments for personal ministry can be made starting at 3:30 pm on a first-come, first-serve basis. This personal time of ministry will typically last 20 minutes with one of our Healing Rooms ministry teams.

Prophecy Rooms
11/23/2014 3:45pm - 4:45pm

At IHOP Atlanta, we desire to encourage and strengthen believers through the prophetic ministry. We have prophecy teams that are trained to hear the heart of the Lord for people and to minister His words of encouragement, edification, and exhortation (1 Cor 14:3). It is our prayer that believers will be strengthened in their faith and have a clearer understanding of how God feels and thinks about them after receiving ministry in the prophecy rooms. If you desire to encounter God's love for you in practical way, we encourage you to sign up for a ministry time in our prophecy rooms.

The prophecy rooms are open on Sundays from 3:45-4:45 PM. Appointments can be made 15 minutes prior. They are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments typically last 10 minutes and are recorded for your convenience.
