April 7th, 2011

The Lord told me something stunning in January: by December 31st of this year, much of the Body of Christ will have no lingering doubt that we are in the generation of the Lord’s return. There will be a gift of urgency permeating the Church through world events, revelation, and powerful moves of the Spirit. It’s only the month of April and I see how true it already is! Since we have an enemy who does not rest or sleep, this necessary shift in our perception will not go unchallenged. There are many tactics the domain of darkness uses to hinder any kind of urgency that fosters passionate abandonment to our loving Father’s eternal purposes. Though in a broad scale these tactics will not be victorious, they are many times effectual on individual levels because of their subtle ways. There are a few tactics the Lord is dealing with in a zealous manner right now, and I believe one is procrastination.

At first glance, it doesn’t look too dangerous, but procrastination is the offspring of passivity and idolatry. Just recently the Lord began to correct me on issues of procrastination I have been avoiding. I didn’t know why I was avoiding the issues, other than I had not made them priorities. One major point of my procrastination was possessions I was holding on to. These possessions, which didn’t appear to be detrimental, needed to go because they did not serve a necessary purpose or bring Him glory. He had kindly invited me into deeper consecration and I was dragging my feet. Because of His zeal for our destinies, He will sometimes hound the issues at hand until we comply with obedience. When I obeyed, He immediately answered prayers I had been praying for years. He responded with a spiritual breakthrough and a breakthrough in the natural. The exchange rate was amazing! He then told me, “Nathanael, procrastination is a darkness that has lazy ears and stubborn feet. It’s vile and it delays My glory.”

When I had responded to His invitation at last, I could not understand why I did not do it sooner. Procrastination is a blinding fog of apathy which causes us to lean on our own understanding.  This is part of the warning of Proverbs 3:5-7. The violence of these verses seem to be lost in translation as they move from the Bible to coffee mugs and T-shirts. The fact remains true: we must not lean on our own understanding or consider ourselves to be wise - no matter how “insignificant” the affair may seem! As we turn away from this evil (yes, relying on our own comprehension is called “evil”), it becomes healing for our body and releases the abundance He’s been wanting to release (Prov 3:8-10). We must remember it is out of His paternal devotion that these invitations of consecration come (Prov 3:11, 12).

Proverbs 10:26 says “Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so the slacker is to the one who sends him on an errand.” Beloved, let us not be such things to our God! We must not drag our feet behind the voice of the Lord. Let us live under the banner of Psalm 119:60 - “I did not hesitate to keep Your commands!”

Healing Rooms
10/26/2014 3:45pm - 4:45pm

If you are wrestling with physical sickness, a chronic disease, a painful injury, or a heavy emotional burden, then there is good news for you. God's Word says that He is exceedingly kind and loves to heal (Psalm 103:1-5). During His earthly ministry, Jesus healed all who came to Him (Matthew 4:24). God has promised that the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick (James 5:15). Therefore, we want to stand with you in prayer and faith, believing God to perform a healing work in your life.

Our Healing Rooms will be held from 3:45 - 4:45 pm on Sunday evenings weekly.

Appointments for personal ministry can be made starting at 3:30 pm on a first-come, first-serve basis. This personal time of ministry will typically last 20 minutes with one of our Healing Rooms ministry teams.

Prophecy Rooms
10/26/2014 3:45pm - 4:45pm

At IHOP Atlanta, we desire to encourage and strengthen believers through the prophetic ministry. We have prophecy teams that are trained to hear the heart of the Lord for people and to minister His words of encouragement, edification, and exhortation (1 Cor 14:3). It is our prayer that believers will be strengthened in their faith and have a clearer understanding of how God feels and thinks about them after receiving ministry in the prophecy rooms. If you desire to encounter God's love for you in practical way, we encourage you to sign up for a ministry time in our prophecy rooms.

The prophecy rooms are open on Sundays from 3:45-4:45 PM. Appointments can be made 15 minutes prior. They are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments typically last 10 minutes and are recorded for your convenience.
