I love you

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him (1 John 4:9).

This verse is so beautiful to me.  God wanted to commune with us so badly that He sent His son as a man.  God in the flesh.  Jesus, the Son of God, the Son of Man.  Divinity wrapped in humanity.  Another way to say the verse is this: “God showed us how much He loved us by sending Jesus into the world, so that we have His Spirit living in us.”

“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”  This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church (Eph. 5:30-31).   You ask “Why did Jesus leave Heaven?”  To become one with His bride.

God gave us the picture of the husband and wife to show us how much He desires us.  Not only how much He desires us, but how much He wants to be in deep intimacy with us.  A oneness like a husband has with His wife when they become one.  He wants to be one with us (John 14:23).  He has made His home in us.

God desired to fill us with His Spirit.  Jesus ascended to fill us with His spirit and be God in us (Ephesians 4:10).  What a mystery!

God so loved us that He sent His son.  He wanted to answer the question for all for all time “Does God love me?” with a resounding “YES.”  Allen Hood, the president of the International House of Prayer University, Kansas City, verbalized something recently that really touched me.  He says, “Does God love you?!?  Let’s settle this.  Love you?!?  He sent His son for you!   He died for you!  He drove a stake in the ground two thousand years ago at Calvary with a flashing sign blinking “I LOVE YOU!”  Oh let the cross forever settle in your heart that God loves you.

So God loves us deeply and wants to be with us so much that He gives us His Spirit on the inside crying out “Abba” (Gal. 4:6). He doesn’t want us distant any longer.  He has given us His Spirit so we can have the same fellowship with the Him that Jesus did as He walked the earth.  Jesus is the highest expression of man to God, and we want to be like Him.  God gives us limitless fellowship with His Spirit (John 3:34-35).  Jesus walked the earth in unabated fellowship with the Spirit.  This is our hope.  This is what we are invited into, limitless fellowship with the Father like Jesus had, by the Spirit.

Prayer:  Oh Father, you have so loved me.  Thank you for the gift of Your Spirit.  Holy Spirit I want to commune with you the same way Jesus did (2 Cor 13:14).  I want limitless fellowship with you. Take me there!

Calendar

Healing Rooms
10/5/2014 3:45pm - 4:45pm

If you are wrestling with physical sickness, a chronic disease, a painful injury, or a heavy emotional burden, then there is good news for you. God's Word says that He is exceedingly kind and loves to heal (Psalm 103:1-5). During His earthly ministry, Jesus healed all who came to Him (Matthew 4:24). God has promised that the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick (James 5:15). Therefore, we want to stand with you in prayer and faith, believing God to perform a healing work in your life.

Our Healing Rooms will be held from 3:45 - 4:45 pm on Sunday evenings weekly.

Appointments for personal ministry can be made starting at 3:30 pm on a first-come, first-serve basis. This personal time of ministry will typically last 20 minutes with one of our Healing Rooms ministry teams.

Prophecy Rooms
10/5/2014 3:45pm - 4:45pm

At IHOP Atlanta, we desire to encourage and strengthen believers through the prophetic ministry. We have prophecy teams that are trained to hear the heart of the Lord for people and to minister His words of encouragement, edification, and exhortation (1 Cor 14:3). It is our prayer that believers will be strengthened in their faith and have a clearer understanding of how God feels and thinks about them after receiving ministry in the prophecy rooms. If you desire to encounter God's love for you in practical way, we encourage you to sign up for a ministry time in our prophecy rooms.

The prophecy rooms are open on Sundays from 3:45-4:45 PM. Appointments can be made 15 minutes prior. They are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments typically last 10 minutes and are recorded for your convenience.

Encounter Service
10/5/2014 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Each service incorporates prophetic worship, Biblical teaching, prayer, and ministry times. Each service is geared to call individuals to a depth of the knowledge of God, intimacy with Jesus, urgency for the hour, and the Sermon on the Mount lifestyle. Through proclamation and impartation, each service is focused on providing a place for encounter with God for the individual, as well as generating a shift in the spiritual atmosphere over the city of Atlanta. Immediately following the service, there is an Information meeting for anyone desiring more information regarding IHOP Atlanta.
Global Bridegroom Fast
10/6/2014 to 10/8/2014
The Global Bridegroom Fast is a monthly, solemn assembly of believers all over the globe in unified holy abandonment to Jesus for three days. We are calling believers worldwide to join together in unified prayer and fasting for revival motivated by experiencing love for Jesus. This is not simply an event, but a new lifestyle in the grace of God. Anyone in any place can participate in the Global Bridegroom Fast. At IHOP Atlanta, we set aside these three days as corporate fasting days for anyone who wants to participate.
