Getting Involved

How Do I Get Connected with IHOP Atlanta?

IHOP Atlanta is open to anyone who would like to attend any of our prayer meetings, Encounter Services, or School of Ministry classes throughout the week.

For those who are interested in serving the missions base on worship teams, on prayer room teams and through helps ministries, there are four different levels of involvement which are defined below. The majority of the operations of the missions base are run by those who have made a commitment to become intercessory missionaries.

Intercessory missionaries are those who have committed to prayer and fasting as the first work of ministry. Their primary function is to maintain a 24-hour canopy of prayer that makes outreach more anointed and effective for the church in the city of Atlanta. Intercessory missionaries raise their own support through partner development. Intercessory missionaries are the modern day equivalent of Levites and gatekeepers in the Tabernacle of David.

What Are the Different Designations of Involvement?

Full Time Staff:

An intercessory missionary who has committed to serving the Lord through 50+ hours of weekly prayer room involvement and helps ministry. These 50+ hours are divided into 35+ hours in the prayer room and 15+ hours in helps ministry.

Part Time Staff:

An intercessory missionary who has committed to serving the Lord through 25+ hours of weekly prayer room involvement and helps ministry. These 25+ hours are divided into 17+ hours in the prayer room and 8+ hours in helps ministry.

IHOP Family:

An individual who has committed to serving the Lord through 10+ hours of weekly prayer room involvement and helps ministry. These 10+ hours are divided into 8+ hours in prayer room and 2+ hours in helps ministry. They are also required to spend 2+ hours in the prayer room weekly and serve 2+ hours each month at the missions base. Calendar

Encounter Service
9/7/2008 6:00pm - 9:00pm
The IHOP Atlanta Encounter Service is held twice weekly, on Sundays at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Each service incorporates prophetic worship, Biblical teaching, prayer, and ministry times. Each service is geared to call individuals to a depth of the knowledge of God, intimacy with Jesus, urgency for the hour, and the Sermon on the Mount lifestyle. Through proclamation and impartation, each service is focused on providing a place for encounter with God for the individual, as well as generating a shift in the spiritual atmosphere over the city of Atlanta. Immediately following the service, there is an Information meeting for anyone desiring more information regarding IHOP Atlanta.
GSM: Book of Acts
9/8/2008 6:00pm - 8:00pm
The early disciples sold their possessions and gave as anyone had need. When the first apostles preached the gospel, either thousands were saved or riots broke out. The early church's response to the broken and hurting world was, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." It is our hope that an honest look into the book of Acts will utterly convict us and lead us into a lifestyle of authentic Christianity, that we might become a people that will again "turn the world upside down."
Staff Intercession Meeting
9/9/2008 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Tuesday is a designated prayer and fasting day for IHOP Atlanta staff and family. We have scheduled intercession meetings at 10 a.m., 4 p.m., 8 p.m., and midnight. We ask that all staff make it a priority to attend the weekly Tuesday 4 p.m. intercession meeting, as this is the one time weekly that we come together as a community for worship and intercession. Full-time staff are required to attend the 4 p.m. and an additional intercession meeting on Tuesday. Part-time staff are required to attend only the 4 p.m. intercession meeting. This meeting is open to the public as are all IHOP Atlanta prayer meetings
GSM: Bride of Christ
9/9/2008 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Ephesians 5 discusses the mystery of the joining of a man and woman as a symbol that points to a greater reality: the eternal union of Christ and His Church. This mystery is revealed throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. This class will discuss the Bridal Paradigm of the kingdom, the major symbols of the Bride throughout the Bible as well as the Bride at the end of the age.
GSM: Life of David
9/9/2008 6:00pm - 8:00pm
The life of David, the son of Jesse, is a fascinating journey of hope and struggle, pain and promotion, despair and victory. We gain significant insight into the character of God through understanding David’s perspective of God in the place of strength as well as weakness. We will contrast seasons of David’s life with the psalms that he authored during those specific times. The study of the life of David is a study of the kindness and goodness of God toward weak people whom He so deeply desires.
GSM: Feasts of Israel
9/10/2008 6:00pm - 8:00pm
he Biblical Feasts as given to Moses are invitations to intimacy, signs of the seasons, and prophetic markers of the first and second coming of Yeshua, the Messiah. We will study the Biblical passages concerning the feasts and look at Jewish tradition in the celebration of the feasts. We will also discuss how we can celebrate the feasts in communion with the Holy Spirit to the honor and glory of God. And finally, we will examine the prophetic purpose and message of the feasts. In the place of fasting, let us not forget that the Lord called feasts as well; and in the place of prayer, let us remember to give thanks and rejoice in the abundance of the Lord our God.
